“1 Then Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and directed him, 'You must not take a wife from the Canaanite women. 2 Arise, go to Paddan-aram to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father, and take as your wife from there one of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother.

“1 When Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son”; and he
answered, “Here I am.”

“1 Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called
according to his purpose.

12 You should not gloat over your brother in the day of his misfortune, nor rejoice over the people
of Judah in the day of their destruction, nor boast so much in the day of their trouble.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all
things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the
cross.

“1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

“1 Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and
utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
