Luke Potter

Lead Pastor

Luke moved to South Bend in 2004 and completed his Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. Before planting New City, Luke was involved in youth ministry, campus ministry, and, for several years, was an associate pastor in the South Bend area.

Luke’s wife Jennie works as a nurse in the oncology unit at St. Joseph Health System. Luke and Jennie have three kids: 6-year-old Jack, 4-year-old Rosemarie, and 2-year-old Henry. The Potter family happily enjoys life in their Westside neighborhood.

Katie Bascom

Ministry Assistant

Katie discovered South Bend as an undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame. After a few years away (in Ukhta, Russia, and Seattle, WA), she returned to the least cloudy, and her favorite, of the three cities. Katie has spent time teaching ESL and high school humanities and working customer service at the public library, but her favorite hours are spent in fellowship and prayer on somebody's front porch. On staff at New City, she enjoys organizing everything that can be organized.

Patrick Klamm

Children's Ministry Coordinator

After graduating from Bethel University with degrees in Psychology and Ministry, Patrick and his wife Kacie moved to South Bend. In the summer of 2018, Patrick joined the team at New City to direct our Bible Club ministry in Monroe Circle. He has a passion for youth ministry and has worked with kids in a variety of roles: as therapist, teacher, camp counselor, and coach. His ideal day would include a trip to a waterpark, fueled with milkshakes and French fries.
